Debbie Golanka
A talented mix of experience and creativity

Debbie's HR career spans nearly three decades and encompasses all areas of human resources. She has honed her skills across multiple industries, including hospitality, education and dental practice management, working for organizations ranging from local to multi-national. With a creative mind and results-oriented attitude, Debbie draws upon her broad human resources background to develop innovative client solutions.

During her 17 years with Marriott International, Debbie held a variety of increasingly more senior leadership roles in human resources and hotel operations. This strong foundation included sales strategy, cost and revenue management, owner relations, asset management and capital expenditures, guest service strategy, associate engagement and leadership development. Her success continued at ARAMARK where she rolled out a regional employee engagement survey and implemented a wage and hour compliance strategy for all California locations.

Debbie's move to educational institutions landed her in strategic roles, developing and implementing human resources strategies for talent acquisition, leave of absence administration, performance management, wage and hour compliance and total rewards. At Smile Brands, Debbie outsourced talent acquisition, including set up and integration of a new applicant tracking system, resulting in enhanced service levels for hiring managers without increasing cost. She also led efforts to design, develop and implement a manager training initiative comprising new hire onboarding, leadership development and job specific skills training.

At Western Dental, Debbie continued her focus on training by leading the process to design and deliver leadership and job skills training to 300 field and corporate managers. She also implemented a human resources information system (HRIS), including applicant tracking, onboarding, payroll, learning management, benefits administration, and performance management.

​

Create, design, develop—all hallmarks of Debbie's HR career but also prevalent outside of work. Debbie loves arts and crafts, describing her wreath-making as an "obsession." Her goods are featured on Etsy and Amazon Handmade and at various craft fairs.
