She began her career at Time Warner, Inc. where she eventually achieved the role of HR Director at Warner Music Group. After enjoying 14 years as part of the Time Warner family, she took a few years off to raise her young children. Upon re-entering the workforce, Karen decided to embark on a new industry path and subsequently served in leadership roles in the HR departments at non-profit hospitals.

At Methodist Hospital, Karen managed all aspects of employee relations for an employee population of 2,000. Karen's natural abilities to build trust and collaborate made her ideally suited for employee relations; she remained the consummate professional even during the most difficult conversations. She conducted employee investigations, employee conduct/behavior disciplinary sessions and terminations. Working closely with legal counsel, she represented the hospital in Employment Development Department (EDD) appeals. Karen also maintained HR policies and developed leadership training.

Karen's transition to Valley Presbyterian Hospital was seamless as she continued to focus on many of the same employee relations functions while adding to her plate HR department supervision and oversight, compliance, and employee engagement including rewards and recognition.

Karen is the ultimate people person. When not at work empowering others to do their best, she loves to spend time with family and friends, especially when that involves getting out in the world, traveling to new places and meeting new faces.
